Renovation of the Xingguang area in Xingguang Road subdistrict began in 2025, with upgrades to underground utility networks and the addition of guardrails and parking spaces to improve living conditions. The district has also built or upgraded 20 roads. The opening of Beilong Road in 2023 eased traffic congestion and reduced detours for nearby residents.

Improved rural transport has also supported local industries. In Xiaba town, the Liangla Line has helped boost fruit growing and rural tourism, contributing to the formation of a year-round fruit-growing industry. In Xiayuan village, Pianpo Bouyei township, efforts have been made to improve the village environment and showcase Bouyei culture.

By the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Wudang's permanent resident population had grown to 373,900. The district had established 10 15-minute living circles and renovated 89 old residential compounds.

Rural domestic sewage treatment and control coverage reached 100 percent, while all natural villages with 30 or more households gained access to household waste collection and disposal services.
