Wudang district is strengthening social assistance and elderly care services by identifying and addressing gaps in service delivery. Through on-site inspections, targeted research and feedback from residents, the district's civil affairs bureau has reviewed weak links in its support system and improved related procedures and regulations.

To address cases in which eligible households had not been fully covered by assistance programs, the district has improved its regular screening mechanism for low-income residents.

Civil affairs authorities now work with rural vitalization, medical insurance and disability services departments to compare data and verify cases household by household, shifting from a model in which residents apply for support to one that proactively identifies those in need. So far, 65 households containing 115 eligible residents have been included in the minimum living allowance program.

The district has also addressed insufficient meal funding for people receiving centralized care in elderly care institutions. Relevant institutions have been required to fully allocate meal funds and provide balanced meat-and-vegetable meal options. A long-term oversight mechanism for elderly care institutions has also been introduced.

To date, meal provisions for 46 elderly people receiving centralized care at two institutions in the district have been improved.
