As the peak summer tourism season approaches, villages across Yangchang town in Wudang district are busy tidying guest rooms, checking facilities, and renovating rural homes to improve accommodation conditions for visitors seeking cool summer retreats.

Yangchang enjoys an average summer temperature of 20.4 C, is well connected by railways, expressways, and highways, and is also home to Huahua Scenic Town, a national 4A-level tourist attraction.
In recent years, Yangchang has transformed idle rural houses into countryside homestays, developing a rural summer tourism industry that has helped broaden income channels for local residents.
At present, Yangchang has developed 186 rural hotels and homestays, providing 2,077 guest rooms and 3,861 beds. In 2025, the town received more than 7,500 tourists venturing there for retreats and generated tourism revenue of 24.11 million yuan ($3.56 million).
Moving forward, Yangchang will continue enriching its tourism products, including introducing experiences such as Bouyei batik DIY workshops and opening rural community dining halls featuring local specialties.
It will also cooperate with local pharmaceutical enterprises to create medicinal cuisine and wellness products inspired by traditional Chinese medicine.
