Wudang's affordable community canteen earns praise

A warm and affordable community canteen, located inside Guizhoulong Food City, Wudang, has gained widespread praise from nearby residents since opening in August 2025, thanks to its considerate service and high-quality meals.

The canteen offers 15 hot dishes and eight refreshing cold dishes every day, featuring a balanced mix of meat and vegetables. Its menu is updated each week, and healthy options such as coarse grains have been added based on residents' feedback to meet the dining needs of people of all ages. The canteen serves around 200 to 300 customers daily.

To ensure food safety, all ingredients – including meat, vegetables, and fruits – are fully traceable. The canteen also adopts an open-kitchen cooking model, allowing diners to watch the entire cooking process in real time.

Meal service hours are designed to fit residents' daily routines, operating from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm and from 5 pm to 7:30 pm. Seniors aged 60 and above receive a special 12 percent discount. The canteen also offers value-added recharge promotions: customers who recharge 200 yuan ($29) receive 210 yuan in dining credit, while top-ups of 500 yuan and 1,000 yuan come with credits of 530 yuan and 1,150 yuan, respectively.

Buffet-style dishes are priced at 2.98 yuan per 50 grams, while rice, fruit, beverages, and coarse-grain soup are available for just 3 yuan per person.
