Wudang district has continued to advance follow-up support measures for people relocated through poverty alleviation programs in recent years. In Yunjin Shangcheng Community, rows of residential buildings are neatly arranged, while landscaped greenery, fresh food stores, children's playgrounds, and fitness facilities create a comfortable living environment for residents.
As a poverty alleviation relocation community in Wudang district, the community has accommodated 280 households with 1,023 residents from six townships, including Xinchang, Baiyi, and Xiaba, achieving full coverage for key groups such as formerly impoverished families, people with disabilities, and low-income households.
To help residents secure stable livelihoods, the community has introduced projects such as a handbag processing workshop and Yunjin Fresh Supermarket, creating nearby job opportunities for more than 40 residents and generating annual industrial dividends of 270,000 yuan ($39,678).
In addition, the community has organized public welfare and vocational skills training programs for more than 500 participants and provided 47 public service positions in areas such as sanitation and security.
"When we first moved here, I worried about how to make a living. Now I can work close to home, earn a stable income, and still take care of my family. Life feels much more hopeful," said Luo, a relocated resident.
The community clinic provides convenient services, including "treatment before payment" and one-stop instant medical reimbursement. Meanwhile, the elderly day-care center offers health monitoring and recreational activities for senior residents.
The community has also established a children's care center to address after-school childcare needs for relocated families. Every afternoon, children receive homework tutoring and participate in music, painting, and dance activities with the help of volunteers, while all school-age children in the community now enjoy access to nearby schools.
