Wudang district in Guiyang has placed strong emphasis on promoting new urbanization during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25). More than 100 old residential communities, shantytowns, urban villages, and backstreets have been renovated, benefiting 12,292 households.

Among them, Jinjiangyuan community underwent extensive upgrades, including the renovation of over 4,000 meters of drainage pipelines, the addition of 500 square meters of green space and 105 parking spaces, as well as improvements to fire safety facilities.

The community was once characterized by pothole-ridden roads and aging infrastructure.

After the renovation, barrier-free ramps and a daytime care center for the elderly and people with disabilities were built, while other facilities were added as well, alongside the introduction of a professional property management team.

Walkways have become clean and accessible, newly planted greenery adds vibrancy to the environment, elderly residents gather in the leisure square for conversations, and children play freely.

"Rainy days used to be the worst, and the water at the entrance of our building would reach up to our ankles. Since the renovation, the community environment has improved tremendously. It feels like we're living in a park," said Xu Gaohui, a resident who has lived in the community for decades.
