Wudang undertakes 21 km wellness race

The Guiyang Panlong Mountain Forest Wellness Race opened registration, with entries accepted through the official "Guizhou Running Circle" platform until Oct 28.

The event will take place on Nov 9 in Xiaba village, Xiaba town, Wudang district, featuring three race categories: a 21-kilometer mountain trail run, a 10 km forest wellness run, and a 5 km family fun run.

The course winds through Panlong Mountain Forest Park, the largest and most ecologically intact forest area in the suburbs of Guiyang. Runners will traverse green corridors of Masson pine and Japanese cedar and may occasionally spot rare plants like the Chinese yew or wildlife such as civets and golden pheasants along the way.

All three routes pass scenic landmarks such as the local fishing pond, Pudu Ancient Bridge, and the old post road, but each category offers a distinct experience. The 21 km route challenges participants with steep climbs and valley crossings; the 10 km route runs through pine and bamboo forests; and the 5 km route offers a gentle trail through traditional Bouyei villages and clear mountain streams.

A rural market will be set up at the finish line, showcasing local agricultural and specialty products. All finishers will also enjoy a complimentary lunch provided by the organizer.
