Wudang District Senior University's AI training becomes popular

An innovative "AI Training Program for Seniors", launched by Wudang District Senior University, has become the most popular course among the university's students.

The program is jointly organized with the Wudang District Association for Science and Technology and the AI team of the Guiyang Association for Science and Technology. It represents the first time that artificial intelligence education has been formally incorporated into the university's regular curriculum.

Since its launch on Sept 5, the program has completed two training sessions. Designed for beginners, the course helps elderly participants build confidence in using modern technology through step-by-step instruction. Trainers cover practical topics ranging from setting up AI voice assistants to enhancing photos on mobile phones, ensuring that seniors can easily engage with everyday digital tools.

A key focus of the program is introducing "practical AI features on smartphones", such as AI-assisted calling, which enables seniors to use technology in ways that directly improve their daily lives. The interactive, hands-on approach has not only reduced barriers to adopting new technologies but also brought a sense of excitement and achievement to the classroom.

Participants expressed strong enthusiasm for the program, noting that it provides them with valuable, life-enhancing skills that are both technological and practical. Many seniors voiced their hope that the AI course would continue every semester, allowing them to stay connected with the digital era and enjoy the convenience of smart living.
