Wudang's Shuitian town enhances rural living environment

Since the beginning of this year, Shuitian town in Wudang district, Guiyang, has integrated efforts to improve rural living conditions with the flourishing summer homestay industry.

With its beautiful landscapes and pristine ecological setting, the town has become an increasingly attractive destination for seasonal visitors seeking a cool and refreshing getaway.

Steady progress has been made in upgrading rural toilets and livestock pens, enhancing residents' quality of life. "The newly renovated toilets are clean and hygienic; tourists are much more satisfied," said Ms Zhou, a resident of Luozhuang village in Shuitian town.

Through well-planned infrastructure, the town has also implemented the centralized collection and treatment of domestic sewage, ensuring wastewater is managed correctly. Residents are instructed to separate their kitchen and dry waste: wet waste is used for farming or composting, while dry waste is disposed of in accordance with regulations.

A tourist from Fujian province, staying at the Shanye Homestay in town, said, "The mountains and rivers here are beautiful, and now the environment is so well maintained – it's a great place to relax. I’ll bring my family next year!"

Shuitian town has developed 51 homestays, offering a total of 274 uniquely styled guest rooms. The area also features tea lounges, a large riverside barbecue and camping base, and traditional farmhouse restaurants, offering visitors a wide array of leisure experiences.
