The Wudang District Administrative Service Center has been enhancing its services to become more age-friendly.
The service center is addressing challenges faced by some elderly people, such as unfamiliarity with internet operations and difficulty using smart devices. It has implemented a "Senior Mode" on self-service terminals and introduced a "Remote + Proxy Service" that uses a "Cloud Seating" platform.
This service allows family members to assist elderly individuals remotely. It enables them to receive on-the-spot, priority service without needing appointments or waiting in line by simply presenting their ID card. The average processing time has been reduced by 46 percent.
By February, over 200 services, including social insurance qualification certifications, medical insurance, and social security inquiries and payments, have been provided to elderly individuals.
The center partnered with Xinyun community to host a service event that addressed mobility issues and other age-related challenges. This initiative brought essential social security and medical insurance services directly to seniors' doorsteps, offering policy information, consultations, and on-site processing.
For the elderly in rural areas, the center set up "service stalls" in local markets to solve urgent and complex problems encountered in government services. This benefitted more than 100 individuals.
