Wudang's industrial development breakthroughs in 2024

In 2024, the GDP of Wudang district in Guiyang reached 25.11 billion yuan ($3.46 billion) – a 5.1 percent year-on-year increase. This builds on the 20 billion yuan milestone achieved in 2023. Behind this achievement is the robust growth of the district's industries.

Wudang district has consistently prioritized health pharmaceuticals as its leading sector, with electronic information manufacturing as its distinctive industry.

Last year, the two sectors achieved output values of 7.16 billion yuan and 3.64 billion yuan, respectively. The district's share of the city's pharmaceutical industry rose to 42.3 percent. Zhenhua Xinyun was recognized as a national "Manufacturing Single Champion Enterprise".

Seven industrial enterprises above a designated size were also cultivated. Jianxing Pharmaceutical became the largest health and pharmaceutical production enterprise in the province and was honored as one of China's Top 100 Pharmaceutical Industry Enterprises.

Four new provincial-level technologically advanced enterprises were added, and the proportion of technologically advanced enterprises above a designated size reached 44.3 percent.

In addition, the district delivered fruitful results in attracting industrial investment. A total of 81 project contracts were signed, including 44 industrial projects. The signed contract amount reached 7.57 billion yuan, and new industry funds totaled 5.77 billion yuan, of which industrial projects accounted for 50.44 percent.
