Wudang welcomes upcoming Lantern Festival

Over 150 people participated in a celebration event on Feb 10 at Xinchuang Road sub-district in Guiyang's Wudang district to welcome the upcoming Lantern Festival, which falls on Feb 12.

Staff meticulously arranged the "Xinchuang Market", which featured various stalls, including tangyuan (glutinous sweet rice balls with fillings), traditional Chinese medicine, and lantern riddle guessing.

The steaming hot tangyuan attracted queues of students and residents. The lantern riddle guessing area was bustling with activities, with rows of hanging red lanterns displaying riddles covering history, culture, and other fields. The colorful riddles and small gifts were entertaining and educational, drawing many teachers, students, and residents to put their minds to the test.

Following this, 15 cultural performances, self-directed and performed by residents, took to the stage. Singing, dancing, poetry recitals, and musical performances kept the joy flowing amid cheers and applause. Everyone was immersed in this traditional holiday's strong festive atmosphere and cultural charm.
