Wudang's 2024 achievements in enhancing livability

In 2024, Wudang district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, successfully completed all 20 projects under its "Ten Practical Matters" initiative.

Promoting employment: The district created 6,477 new urban jobs, exceeding its annual target by 7.95 percent.

Enhancing education quality: Wudang constructed Wudang District No 10 Kindergarten and added 1,200 new enrollment slots for compulsory education.

Improving public healthcare: The completion of the Wudang District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital (located on Beiya Road) provided a boost to local healthcare development. Additionally, the construction of the Yangchang Health Center emergency station (located in Yangchang town) extended quality medical resources to rural area.

Improving rural living environments: Wudang continued advancing the "Five Rural Improvements" initiative, rectifying 720 rural household toilets and completing the renovation of 550 rural houses.

Ensuring access to safe drinking water: Emergency drought-relief water supply projects were completed in five villages of Xinchang town, addressing the drinking water needs of nearly 10,000 residents. Additionally, the completion of the 470,000-cubic-meter Xintao Reservoir water plant and its supporting pipeline network resolved water supply issues in Guding and Guba villages of Xiaba town.

Enhancing public services: Ten sanitation worker rest areas were newly built or upgraded. The completion of the Shuitian Town Farmers' Market has made market visits more convenient and enjoyable for nearby villagers.

Improving rural meteorological disaster prevention: The agricultural and rural natural environment governance public service project was completed, encompassing eight towns and 40 administrative villages.

Advancing public cultural services: High-quality public cultural services were extended to communities, enriching the cultural lives of residents. Three "Yikebao" cultural hub demonstration sites were established. Additionally, 20 fitness infrastructure projects were completed.

Improving transportation: The Huoshipo No 2 Road was completed, 850 new public parking spaces were added, and 12.16 kilometers of rural road repairs were completed.

Enhancing urban image: A 5-km section of curbs along Xintian Avenue was renovated, and upgrades to manhole covers on Xintian Avenue were completed.
