Since the beginning of this year, Wudang district in Guiyang has made significant progress in developing vegetable supply bases. Large-scale vegetable farms have been growing steadily, offering an increasingly diverse variety of vegetables. This makes Wudang a key player in ensuring stable vegetable production and supply during winter in Guiyang city and Gui'an New Area.
Guizhou Tonghong Juxin Agricultural Development Co operates a vegetable supply base covering over 170 mu (11.33 hectares), including more than 120 greenhouses spanning 57 mu and over 120 mu of open fields. Various winter vegetables are harvested, with a daily supply capacity of around 900 kilograms. Annually, the base provides around 750,000 kg of vegetables. To meet market demand during the upcoming Spring Festival, the base is actively planting additional vegetable varieties.
Wudang district has established 10 vegetable supply bases and 30 large-scale farms, covering a total planting area of over 6,000 mu. The district ensures an average daily supply of over 50,000 kg of vegetables, with an estimated total of over 15,000 metric tons available throughout the winter.
Wudang will assign agricultural technicians to provide on-site technical guidance based on current planting conditions. Efforts will be made to focus on staggered planting schedules and ensure seamless crop rotation and timely market availability. The goal is to stabilize the supply chain, allow residents to enjoy fresh vegetables, and guarantee a stable "vegetable basket" for Guiyang.
