As summer temperatures rise across the country, many people are flocking to Guizhou province seeking relief from the heat. In particular, Yangchang town in Wudang district, Guiyang, the provincial capital, attracts many tourists with a cool average summer temperature of 20.4 C, offering a natural escape from the heat.

So far, the town has already seen 1,806 reservations for long-term stays, 60 percent of which are return visitors, with a significant influx expected by late June or early July.

Wang Yuanxiu, a tourist from Chongqing, visiting Yangchang for the third year in a row, finds the town's fresh air and comfortable climate ideal for a summer stay, as do many other repeat visitors. Visitors such as Wu Zhongqin and her husband also return yearly to the same guesthouse, where they are treated like family by locals.

These interactions bring not just financial benefits but also provide opportunities for cultural exchanges, enriching the community. For instance, a retired professor from Chongqing teaches local children during her stay, fostering local educational growth.

The relationship between tourists and locals fosters a harmonious environment, making Yangchang town an ever-improving destination. The introduction of new villager cards for repeat visitors, offering benefits like free access to scenic spots and shopping discounts, further solidifies their bond with the town.
