During the just-concluded May Day holiday, Wudang district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, received 586,500 visits across all of its attractions, an increase of 9.32 percent year-on-year.

The tourism revenue registered during this time period came in at 298 million yuan ($41.23 million), growing 10.74 percent compared to previous year.

Over the holiday, Wudang carefully organized 15 events revolving around sports, family-friendly tours, fruit and vegetable picking, cultural museums and performances, and artwork exhibitions. The district also rolled out five new tourist routes, aiming to strengthen the integration of agriculture, culture, commerce, sports and tourism.

During this period, several of Wudang authoritative departments, such as the commerce, health, and market supervision, strengthened the supervision and management of the market transactions, food safety and hygiene, ticket sales, food and accommodation prices, security, and service quality at scenic spots. Over 30 personnel were mobilized, conducting inspections at more than 40 enterprises.

In addition, the district provided training for rural homestay operators, aiming to continuously improve reception capabilities and service quality, thereby enhancing tourist satisfaction and security.
