Wudang district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has set 2024 targets for the development of tourism and will continue to make sustained efforts in three aspects: boosting the appeal of tourist attractions, expanding customer sources, and optimizing services.

To boost the appeal of tourist attractions, Wudang will promote tourism formats such as urban and suburban recreation, rural vacationing, hiking and cycling, and distinctive dining.

It will upgrade the Pianpo Yuanwei Town and the Yangchang Huahua Town, promoting the in-depth integration of agriculture, culture, commerce, and tourism. Additionally, it will renovate idle rural houses to establish 30 boutique homestays, continue to promote local tourist attractions, and introduce capable professional teams to accelerate development of local scenic spots.

To expand customer sources and increase vitality, the district will closely focus on developing suburban tours for residents of Guiyang, summer escapes for tourists from Chongqing, Guangdong, and other areas, and health and wellness tours for middle-aged and elderly groups.

The district will also carry out seasonal promotional activities such as spring flower appreciation, summer retreats, autumn fruit picking, and winter hot spring tours to achieve this year's development goals – which include a 5-percent-or-more increase in per capita tourist spending and a 10-percent increase in overnight visitor numbers.

To optimize services, Wudang will strengthen professional training for industry personnel and tourism facility management and rigorously oversee the quality of tourism services to ensure a 100-percent customer satisfaction rate.
