Wudang's tourism revenue increases by 98.73%

Wudang district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, conducted nearly 20 various cultural and tourism activities during the 2024 Spring Festival holiday.

Based on preliminary estimates, it received a total of 333,900 visits, marking a 76.37 percent year-on-year increase, and achieved a tourism revenue of 155 million yuan ($21.55 million), up by 98.73 percent compared to the previous year.

Seven A-level scenic spots in Wudang received 33,100 visits during this holiday period, generating a tourism revenue of 2.65 million yuan.

During the holiday, the district meticulously planned a City Walk Fun Stamp Rally and invited citizens and tourists to collect stamps at hot spring resorts, cultural tourism enterprises, and public cultural venues. According to the event rules, after collecting the stamps, participants could exchange them for coupons or tickets to Wudang's scenic spots.

What's more, various local scenic spots launched distinctive activities such as traditional handicraft markets, fireworks shows, and carnivals, which received a warm reception from visitors.

In addition, a series of intangible cultural heritage performances were staged in towns and townships across Wudang district, offering residents and visitors a cultural feast.
