The housing and urban-rural development bureau of Wudang district recently clarified several key focuses for rural house management work in 2024.

The first focus is to make rural houses more livable. This will involve courtyard renovations, functional enhancements, environmental clean-up around the houses, and improving the appearance of rural houses.

By adapting to local conditions and combining targeted and comprehensive approaches, the improvement work aims to make rural houses more livable, making courtyards in villages more aesthetically pleasing and enhancing the overall quality of rural life.

In terms of the revitalization of idle rural houses, the district encourages village collectives, villagers, and investors from the broader community to activate existing housing resources to establish demonstration zones for the integrated development of agriculture, culture, and tourism. This may also help bring in more money for local residents.

In addition, Wudang will conduct a survey of abandoned or dangerous old rural houses, discarded sheds and pens, dilapidated walls, and more. The initiative supports and encourages village collectives and villagers to participate in demolition and renovation work, aiming to eliminate safety hazards and improve the rural landscape.

In addition, efforts will be made to train and cultivate a batch of rural construction workers. Experts or professional institutions will be commissioned to provide training and safety education for these construction workers. A registry of rural construction workers will be established and made publicly available.
