Wudang sees tourism revenue exceed 100m yuan during New Year's holiday

During the just-concluded New Year's holiday, Wudang district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, received 191,900 visits, generating 105 million yuan ($14.65 million) in tourism revenue, up 51.94 percent and 54.41 percent year-on-year, respectively.

During the holiday, Wudang took advantage of the recently opened Guiyang Metro Line 3 to design and launch three New Year travel routes, all centered around the metro stations in the district.

Additionally, to enrich the holiday experience, Wudang organized a series of exciting cultural and sporting activities. The district's library remained open during the holiday and organized three activities for readers, attracting approximately 1,050 visits. The library also distributed 650 copies of the 2024 annual reader activity schedule.

Meanwhile, the district's cultural center hosted the New Year painting and calligraphy exhibition, with over 300 people attending.

In addition, on New Year's Day, Wudang held a "New Year Fitness Hike" activity, with more than 1,000 people participating. Throughout the holiday period, there were also lively events such as the Fenghuang Tianjie New Year Concert and the Zhengde Jiabang Shopping Center roadside concert, creating a festive atmosphere.

Moreover, during the holiday period, a total of 40 inspection personnel were deployed to conduct safety inspections and offer guidance at 51 cultural and tourism enterprises, units, and venues, including tourist attractions, hotels, entertainment venues, public cultural service places, and cultural heritage sites. This effort aimed to ensure the safety and orderliness of the tourism market.
