Health and pharmaceutical industry beefs up new industrialization in Wudang

After years of development, the health and pharmaceutical industry in Wudang district has become a leading driver behind the district's industrial development and an important part of the district's new industrialization.

In 2022, the output value of the health and pharmaceutical industry above designated size in Wudang reached 5.88 billion yuan ($806.15 million), accounting for 37.8 percent of the total health and pharmaceutical industrial output value in Guiyang and 19.6 percent in the province.

In the first half of 2023, the industry achieved an industrial output value of 3.39 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 45.33percent, accounting for 70.18 percent of the total output value of the district's large-scale industrial enterprises.

Currently, Wudang is focusing on optimizing the industrial structure of the health and pharmaceutical industry. Efforts have been made to improve pharmaceutical technology, increase investment in R&D, enhance intelligent manufacturing capabilities and cultivate a series of leading medical products.

Significant results have been achieved in the intelligent and green development of the pharmaceutical industry, leading to improvements in the scale and quality of the industry.
