In recent years, the number of new energy vehicles has grown rapidly, and the number of charging piles is struggling to keep up. To alleviate this shortage, Wudang district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been promoting their construction.
In Dongfeng town, a charging station project worth 2 million yuan ($274,200) is underway. Construction on 40 fast-charging piles and two slow-charging piles started in May and is expected to be completed by Aug 20.
This year, the district plans to build 50 new charging piles, 32 of which have been completed. To date, the district is home to 620 charging piles.
The charging piles will not only make travel easier for new energy vehicle owners, but also help promote low-carbon travel.
