Nowadays, internet-based medical treatment services have allowed more patients in Wudang district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, to truly feel the convenience brought by intelligent medicine.
With the help of digital means, Wudang has continuously improved its public health management services by building an information platform for medical and health institutions.
In March 2022, the district's health bureau included Wudang Medical Community General Hospital and 11 township health centers and community health service centers into a unified information system, and established a digital graded diagnosis and treatment platform to effectively meet people's medical needs.
The platform has realized remote outpatient consultation, remote telemedicine, two-way referral, remote ECG, remote examination, and remote imaging.
When the general practitioners of the primary health center encounter problems related to specific diseases, they can call on superior doctors for remote consultation through the platform. Due to the medical records sharing and remote outpatient communication, the other doctors can then provide the treatment plans and guide general practitioners to carry out the necessary treatment, according to Gan Xuning, director of the Information Management Center of Wudang Medical Community General Hospital.
Thanks to the platform, patients now can complete a series of operations in seeking medical treatment, such as outpatient registration, expense payment, and viewing checkup reports with their mobile phones.
Wudang Medical Community General Hospital has also launched many online convenience service measures such as mobile phone cloud film, electronic invoices, health assistants, medication guidance, health encyclopedias, and also opened night clinics so that the public can obtain medical services at any time.
At present, the digital graded diagnosis and treatment platform has created more than 20 application scenarios for the convenience of the public, and established more than 190,000 health records for local residents.
Chen Lin, director of the district's health bureau, said Wudang will further promote the construction of the platform, realize the interconnection of health data in its jurisdiction, create a medical environment that is convenient and beneficial to locals, and bring more high-quality health services to the public.
