Wudang district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, ranked second among county-level cities and districts across the province in the recently announced 2022 Guizhou evaluation for business environment.

Last year, Wudang established a working mechanism for overall promotion, social regulation, complaint handling, supervision, and business services. It also hired 18 business environment voluntary supervisors to supervise the business environment optimization work.

In terms of deepening reform, the district has continuously optimized its business affairs handling processes, with 82.4 percent of procedures available for online processing. The number of materials needed to handle business affairs is lower than the province's average, and now Wudang's seven procedures to start a business have zero costs involved.

As for improving service efficiency, Wudang carried out visiting services to 10,273 enterprises in the district. It collected and handled 200 enterprise appeals, and improved its mechanism for handling enterprise complaints. Additionally, all business environment-related cases brought to the district's attention through the 12345 hotline were handled within the specified time limit.

Through the continuous optimization of its business environment, Wudang introduced 93 new projects last year, with a project fund of 8.26 billion yuan ($1.20 billion) in place. Of this fund, 65.9 percent is set aside for industrial funds. The district has also introduced 26 competitive enterprises and added 6,985 new market entities.
