Wudang medical industrial park under rapid construction

The Sinopharm West China Medical Industrial Park is now under rapid construction in Wudang district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The industrial park is designed to cover a land area of about 500 mu (33.33 hectares), and mainly handles the three major links: medical device manufacturing, pharmaceutical product production, and pharmaceutical product circulation services.

It will be constructed into two phases, namely a medical device and pharmaceutical production base, and the Guizhou headquarters of China National Equipment Co Ltd, a subsidy of China National Pharmaceutical Group Co (Sinopharm).

Sinopharm is a large healthcare group directly under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.

The construction area of the production base is about 400,000 square meters, and the total investment of the project will reach 5 billion yuan ($746.27 million).

Its tasks mainly include the production and manufacturing of medical devices and pharmaceutical products, as well as building a production center for leading enterprises in the industry, a gathering center for local enterprises, an incubation center for innovative enterprises, and a medical device OEM (original equipment manufacturer) park.

The Guizhou headquarters of China National Equipment Co Ltd will act as a platform for services and operations for China National Equipment (Guizhou) Co Ltd.

It will have a construction area of 14,000 square meters and include the country's leading third-party imaging inspection centers and hemodialysis centers.

Once fully completed in 2025, the production base is expected to have an annual output value of more than 3 billion yuan and generate a tax payment of 180 million yuan.

The Guizhou headquarters of China National Equipment Co Ltd is estimated to achieve sales revenue of 5 billion yuan and pay 90 million yuan in taxes annually once put into operation.

At present, 21 enterprises have signed an agreement of intent to settle in the Sinopharm West China Medical Industrial Park.

In 2023, the park plans to conduct matchmaking with 30 industrial enterprises and 40 trade enterprises. It also plans to realize the settlement of three manufacturing enterprises and 10 trade enterprises.
