A 24-hour mental health counseling hotline has officially opened in Wudang district in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The move was made by the Wudang district government to provide better services amid the current wave of COVID-19 in Guizhou province.

The hotline will serve COVID-19 patients, quarantined personnel and their families, civil affairs servants, people affected by the epidemic, frontline volunteers and other groups.

On Sept 16, the hotline started offering counseling services. More than 50 qualified and experienced psychological counselors, family education instructors and legal counselors have formed a psychological counseling hotline volunteer team to serve people in need.

Additionally, Wudang will continue to publish psychological science information online to relieve residents' anxiety.
