Wudang district in Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – plans to invest 20 million yuan ($3.01 million) in the renovation and upgrading of 20 backstreets and alleys in its jurisdiction throughout the year.

The to-be-renovated and upgraded backstreets and alleys have a combined length of 7,630 meters and cover an area of 103,841 square meters in total.

Around 50,249 Wudang residents will benefit from the project.

Since April, 10 streets and alleys, including Meilanshan Road, Fukang Road, and the entrance of Feicuiwan, have started construction one after another. All 20 back streets and alleys to be renovated have been blocked in paddocks, with a total construction rate of 100 percent.

By the end of 2023, Wudang district plans to meet the standards for a clean and tidy environment, orderly roads and complete facilities in backstreets and alleys under its jurisdiction.
