Wudang district in Guiyang -- capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- received 380,000 tourists during the recent May Day holiday, according to the district's culture, sports, radio, television and tourism bureau.

During the five-day holiday from April 30 to May 4, tourism revenue generated in the district hit 163 million yuan ($24.46 million).

A series of culture and tourism activities were held during the break to attract tourists, which included the launch of six one-day tour routes, two two-day tour routes, one three-day tour route and one five-day tour route.

The newly-launched routes gave people the chance to experience fruit picking, tour museums, eat authentic food, sightseeing in the countryside, and learn about the history of the Party.

In addition, the district's culture, sports, radio, television and tourism bureau carried out inspections of accommodation, tourism and cultural venues to ensure safety and the strict implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control measures.

The tourism market during the holiday was reportedly strong, with no tourist delays or complaints.
