In the wake of great achievements made in the previous year, plans are for Wudang district to continue to expand and streamline its tourism sector and explore a new all-for-one tourism development pattern in the new year.

Wudang district is located in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province. It enjoys cool weather and features a host of appealing and popular resources including hot springs, wetlands, forests and its traditional ethnic group culture.

In 2021, Wudang explored a new path that looked into the integrated development of tourism, agriculture, industry and culture.

Several travel routes were launched to lure tourists. These involved enjoying the hot springs, avoiding the summer heat, sampling countryside sightseeing, exploring traditional ethnic culture and the culture related to the history of the Communist Party of China.

Following the efforts, Wudang generated tourism revenue of 9.29 billion yuan ($1.39 billion) in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 24.64 percent. Moreover, the district had 6,300 people employed in tourism and related industries that year.

Currently, Wudang is home to 20 scenic spots and 82 parks. Of these, five scenic spots are rated at the national 4A level and two at the national 3A level.

It also hosts 20 travel agencies and has around 200 accommodation providers.
