The Wudang district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, received 117,200 tourist visits during the seven-day Spring Festival holiday, according to the district's culture, sports, radio, television and tourism bureau.
During the seven-day holiday from Jan 31 to Feb 6, tourism revenue in the district hit 46 million yuan ($6.9 million).
Over the period, Wudang launched a variety of cultural tourism activities and some scenic spots in the district organized interactive experience activities and offered discount tickets.
To ensure safety and order during the holiday, Wudang carried out inspections of scenic spots, hotels, cultural and entertainment venues, cafes and sports venues.
Over the break, there were no reports of disasters or tourists stranded in scenic spots in Wudang. The cultural tourism market was in good order and social security was strong, with no tourism safety incidents or complaints.
