The Wudang district of Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – has reportedly achieved the goals it set out for 2021 in terms of improving the quality of life and standard of living of its residents.

Throughout last year, Wudang is reported to have completed 798 tasks in 68 public service and welfare categories.

These included improvements to the system for boosting employment and entrepreneurship, resulting in 5,288 people finding jobs in urban areas and 2,336 people getting employed in rural areas.

In addition, the urban registered unemployment rate in Wudang district was controlled to within 5 percent and no households in the district registered unemployment.

Attaching great importance to its control of urban commuter flows, Wudang reportedly witnessed a significant decline in its traffic congestion index last year.

Meanwhile, Wudang completed construction of five schools, adding another 7,820 education places and the district's medical services were improved.

The national medical insurance information platform went online in Wudang district, while the Luowan residential community service center was completed and started operation.

Construction of key projects – such as the Wudang District Maternal and Child Health Hospital and the Guiyang Center for Disease Control and Prevention – was accelerated.
