The gross domestic product or GDP of the Wudang district in Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is expected to top 20 billion yuan ($3.14 billion) in 2022, according to the latest economic and social development plan published by the local government.

In the current year, plans are for Wudang to make every effort in terms of strengthening its industrial development, boosting urbanization and advancing its rural revitalization.

A "1+4+1" industry system will be further advanced. This refers to expansion of the manufacturing, health and medicine sectors, electronic information manufacturing, advanced equipment manufacturing, specialty food and the software information technology services industry.

In 2022, Wudang is projected to see the launch of 15 new companies above a designated size – those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($3.1 million) or more – as well as to achieve gross output values of 9 billion yuan and 6.9 billion yuan respectively for its electronics information manufacturing sector and its health and medicine industries.

In terms of project construction, Wudang plans to introduce more than 10 industrial supply chain projects and complete industrial investments of over 4 billion yuan throughout the year.

To guarantee industrial construction and production, Wudang will reserve 686 mu of land for industrial use and accelerate the construction of infrastructure in neighboring industrial parks and zones.

For its urbanization and rural revitalization, plans are for Wudang to renovate 20 side alleys and streets, as well as 3,750 old residential communities.

In addition, construction of the Wuchang Expressway and the Metro Line 3 will be accelerated. Another 480 new 5G stations will be installed and rain and a sewage pipe network –  some 55 kilometers long – will be constructed.

A modern agriculture industrial system will gradually take shape in Wudang. The district will establish more than 5,000 mu of high-standard farmland, with a stable grain production area of 76,100 mu and an annual output of more than 22,000 metric tons.

In 2022, plans are for Wudang to expand the treatment of drinking water, remove domestic sewage and black and malodorous bodies of water in rural areas and expand the coverage rate of rural domestic sewage treatment facilities to 68.42 percent.

Construction of a rural garbage collection and transportation system will also be accelerated to improve the rural living environment.
