Wudang issues new-type urbanization action plan

Wudang district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently issued an implementation plan on advancing new-type urbanization.

According to the plan, by 2025, the district's permanent population will reach 500,000 and its urbanization rate will reach around 80 percent.

The permanent population living in Wudang's urban areas will reach 320,000, and the urban built-up area will double to more than 50 square kilometers.

Wudang will focus on optimizing the spatial layout of urbanization and improving its urban structural system.

By 2025, the coordination of urban and rural regional development will be significantly enhanced, urban governance will be more efficient, and the regional emergency management system will be more complete.

Better employment, healthcare and education services will help to improve people's livelihoods and sense of wellbeing.

In terms of industrial upgrading, Wudang will attach great importance to the development of big data, tourism, healthcare, characteristic food, and the manufacture of middle to high-end consumer goods.

By 2025, Wudang will establish a 100-billion-level ($15 billion) industrial park, five urban business circles, and three economic blocks.

The main business income of big data companies in the district will reach 10 billion yuan, the value of the district's service industry will increase by 14.9 billion yuan; the total output value of the agricultural products processing industry will hit 10 billion yuan; and total annual tourism revenues are expected to exceed 30 billion yuan.
