Wudang district in Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is understood to have completed the renovation and upgrading of 30 back streets and alleys since the start of the year.
The renovated and upgraded back streets and alleys worked on stretching out a combined 10,683 meters and covering an area of 165,845 square meters in total.
The facelift was intended to help tackle outstanding problems such as indiscriminate throwing of litter, illegal parking, unauthorized construction work, overflowing sewage, unregistered street stalls and garbage clean-ups.
Five of the back streets and alleys worked on were reportedly renovated in line with the requirements for lifting a street or an alley to a demonstration level.
Plans are that by the end of 2023, Wudang district will have met the standards for a clean and tidy environment, orderly roads and complete facilities in the back streets and alleys under its jurisdiction.
