Wudang district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is accelerating its development of agricultural and rural modernization, aiming to ensure that modern agriculture accounts for more than 55 percent of the agricultural sector, according to local media reports.

To achieve this goal, it is promoting the modernization and development of agriculture and rural areas, integrating urban-rural coordinated development and forming a new urban-rural relationship featuring the mutual promotion of agriculture, culture, business and tourism.

This year, Wudang will further advance structural reforms on the agricultural supply side to ensure that the sown area of grain is stabilized at 78,500 mu (5,233.33 hectares), with an output of more than 24,300 metric tons.

The added value of the primary industry is expected to increase by 6.5 percent, the per capita disposable income of rural residents is expected to increase by 9.5 percent and the conversion rate of agricultural product processing will increase to 66 percent.

It will also build a 5,000-mu high-standard vegetable supply base, develop 10,000 mu of high-efficiency cash crops and upgrade toilets in 1,500 households.

By the end of 2025, the district is expected to basically form a modern rural industrial system and achieve phased results in rural revitalization.
