Wudang's GDP achieves robust growth in Q1

In the first quarter of 2021, Wudang district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, achieved GDP growth of 16.2 percent year-on-year, according to local media reports.

Since the beginning of this year, Wudang district has accelerated development in rural revitalization, big data and the ecological sector. It has also promoted new industrialization, new urbanization, agricultural modernization and tourism industrialization.

The main economic indicators in the first quarter showed a strong performance and the district's economy achieved stable growth.

Over the past two years, the district's average GDP growth rate was 8.6 percent, 1.8 percentage points higher than the provincial average and 2.6 percentage points higher than the city's average.

In the first three months of the year, fixed-asset investment increased by 33.9 percent year-on-year, and the operating income of service industries above a designated size increased by 359 percent year-on-year.

In addition, the key projects at the municipal and provincial levels achieved a total investment of 3.09 billion yuan ($478.95 million), a year-on-year increase of 18.98 percent.
