Wudang continues to pursue comprehensive development

Wudang district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, maintained steady high-quality development during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20) and aims to continue all-round development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), according to local media reports.

In the past five years, the district achieved success in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. It injected 27.79 million yuan ($4.24 million) to implement 46 projects, lifting 28,000 impoverished people out of poverty.

It also accelerated development in the health industry, introducing 104 projects with a total investment of 27.11 billion yuan. The total output value of the health and pharmaceutical industry exceeded 6.84 billion yuan, playing a leading role in the province's health sector.

The district attached great importance to green development, building 82 parks over the five years and keeping the good air quality rate above 96.5 percent.

It also deepened reform and opening-up and improved government affairs services. Over the five-year period, the online handling rate of government service items reached 100 percent, 68,783 new market entities were added – a growth rate of 273.92 percent, and 54 high-tech enterprises were established. The district also introduced 75 high-quality enterprises and 109 cooperative projects, with a total investment of 63.2 billion yuan.

Wudang also made great efforts to improve people's livelihoods, launching projects in areas including education, healthcare and employment. It invested 1.47 billion yuan to build 17 schools, established four hospitals and offered employment to 46,441 people in urban areas.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Wudang district will promote industrial development, focus on new urbanization and agricultural modernization, boost tourism industrialization and push forward green development to seek steady all-round growth.
