In Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, Wudang district signed an agreement with Guiyang Agricultural Investment Development Group on Jan 18 to deepen cooperation.
Representatives from both sides participated in the meeting, which saw officials from Wudang brief attendees on economic development in the district. Also, a representative from an agricultural company in the district discussed Wudang's efforts to build an agricultural industry demonstration belt.
Tang Yue, chairman of Guiyang Agricultural Investment Development Group, said that the group and Wudang had established a long-term partnership.
According to Tang, during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), the two sides will cooperate to promote the construction of the agricultural industry demonstration belt in the district and accelerate rural revitalization and farming modernization.
Zhu Gang, Party secretary of the district committee, said that the group had made significant contributions to Wudang's economic and social development.
He expressed his hope that the two sides would continue to strengthen cooperation in several areas, including the cultivation of fruits and Chinese herbal medicines, the breeding of livestock and poultry, the construction of vegetable supply guarantee bases, and the construction of agricultural infrastructure.
Wudang is planning to build a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) industrial park to promote the development of agriculture and increase farmers' incomes. The district expects support from the group concerning the breeding, planting and processing of TCM, Zhu added.
