According to local authorities, Wudang district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has made great efforts to improve its rural living environment in 2020.
It invested 22.8 million yuan ($3.52 million) in building 118 living environment improvement projects and successfully created a municipal-level rural revitalization demonstration zone.
In the past year, the district has promoted the countryside's beautification, building one high-quality demonstration village. Seven other demonstration villages are still in need of improvements.
Among them, Pianpo village in Pianpo township was listed among the national key villages for rural tourism and was honored as a beautiful leisure village.
The district carried out a comprehensive cleanup in 430 villages that are each home to more than 30 households and promoted sewage treatment and domestic waste disposal.
