Wudang district – located in Guiyang city, in Southwest China's Guizhou province – ran the 2020 short-term convalescence program for veterans and disabled folk at the Fuwankang Rehabilitation Hospital of Guizhou Province, local officials said.
The 10-day program, which started on July 20, helped 30 Wudang military personnel receiving pension benefits, rural veterans and disabled soldiers.
They participated in the program which included physical examinations, physical rehabilitation, spa treatments and visits to Yangchang Huahua Small Town – which among other things features flower and agricultural product displays.
At the launch ceremony on July 20, Xie Jun, deputy head of Wudang district and director general of the Wudang public security bureau, said in his speech that Wudang was aiming to create a new system to handle local veterans’ affairs.
He stressed that Wudang would improve the quality of its convalescence services to meet the needs of veterans.
