Updated: 2020-07-03

Wudang district – in Guiyang city in Southwest China's Guizhou province – has ramped up its efforts to build itself into the core area of the Guiyang high-end health industry, according to local officials.

They said it expects to develop 20 relevant key projects, cultivate 30 product categories and 40 major healthcare enterprises in 2020.

To improve the competitiveness of the health industry, Wudang will focus on promoting the construction of high-end health care core areas and deploy demonstration belts for spring health care and leisure tourism.

It will also focus on building mid to high-end manufacturing hubs and modern pharmaceuticals logistics distribution centers.

In 2020, the district is aiming to achieve a total output value of 7 billion yuan ($990.76 million) in the health and pharma manufacturing industry, with pharmaceutical logistics sales topping 6 billion yuan.

Wudang officials said that the district will push forward with the construction of Huizhi Yunjin business incubation centers, as well as improve the support facilities at the Huoshipo Food Industrial Park and Huowan Yunjin Medicine and Food Industrial Park.

Officials also said the district will start construction of the Xinchang Mid to High-end Manufacturing Industrial Park and finish upgrading of more than 50 5G stations.

To further boost the development of Wudang’s health industry, the district will make efforts to attract hot springs resorts brands and pharmaceutical manufacturing brands and accelerate technical innovation in companies.

Moving forwards, officials said the Wudang government will provide better government services and strengthen its business promotion of its health industry.

It is setting itself the goal of introducing two to three leading enterprises in the health industry and three well-known domestic companies, building a province-wide pharmaceuticals industry integrated park and a gathering platform for enterprises with drug licensees – as well as aiming to have cumulative signed health industry investment contracts of 10 billion yuan in the district.
