Wudang calligraphy, painting activity highlights national celebration

Updated: 2019-09-24

A calligraphy and painting activity was held in Wudang district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Sept 17, in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Organized by the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wudang committee, the event also invited several well-known calligraphers and painters from the city and the province to compose their works on site in Wanggang village of Wudang, the venue for the activity.

During the event, calligraphers and painters expressed their patriotism through their works, with a large calligraphic work writing "不忘初心、牢记使命" (translation: Stay true to the original aspiration and keep the mission firmly in mind), stealing the limelight.

Ma Dingwu, chairman of the CPPCC Wudang committee, and other members of the committee took part in the activity, including vice chair persons Meng Xiangcui, Wang Yuanhang, Zhao Xiaosu, and Fang Ying.

At present, Wudang is making every effort to develop itself into an important area in Guiyang, striving to become an industrial hub and ecological barrier in the city, based on the philosophy of "turning one product into one industry and hundreds of industries into successes".
