Wudang focuses on five fields to stimulate development

Wudang district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest Guizhou province, has continued to refine the development orientation of its Guizhou Wudang Economic and Development Zone to be an innovation-driven, resource-conservation, and environment-friendly one. 

Approved by the Guizhou provincial government in 2011, the Guizhou Wudang Economic and Development Zone was established to upgrade Guiyang's development with more opening-up and efficient operation. 

By counting on industrial bases and highlighting regional uniqueness, Wudang district has determined to elaborate the economic zone's development position while sticking to the construction model of "five fields plus base." 

Chemical medicine is one of the five fields that Wudang will devote its energy. The district is making enormous efforts to strengthen the industry and achieve its development goal of reaching an annual output of 6.5 million yuan ($927.19 million), becoming a provincial core area for chemical medicine R&D, incubation, and manufacturing. 

As the medium-and-high consumer goods industry has become a key area for Guiyang to gain substantial development in recent years, the zone is expected to greatly bolster medium-and-high consumer goods manufacturing, spanning beauty and make-up, functional healthcare, as well as medicine and food products. 

The fields of big data, smart medical equipment, and ethnic medicine have also been listed as part of Wudang's development goals, helping the district be home to a provincial “Internet + health medical treatment demonstration area," a "medical equipment R&D and manufacturing pioneering area," and a "Miao ethnic medicine manufacturing cluster."

In addition, Wudang will include the Zhangtianshui area into its development expansion, making full use of its medical health industry, as well as contributing more to its innovation-driven development and the economic zone's quality development.
