Digital Valley Development Project in Wudang District

Covering 686 square kilometers, Wudang district administers six towns, two townships, five new communities, 76 villages (fields) and 31 neighborhood committees with a total population of 281,000. It has 33 ethnic groups including Han, Buyi and Miao.

The district boasts outstanding ecological resources with 54.9% forest coverage and 93.8% of good and excellent air quality days per year. The average temperature of the district is 14.6 °C. It has karst landforms, biodiversity, rich geothermal resources, and mountains and waters. In addition, the district features abundant historic and cultural heritage sites and unique ethnic group folk activities. 

The district has a superior traffic network with easy access to the airport, expressways, high-speed railways and urban trunk roads.

Bringing together ecological and health industries , the district has been developing health, big data and tourism as its three major industries.

The proposed location of the digital valley development project is next to the Guizhou Wudang Economic Development Zone and Happy Valley International City.

As one of the first smart cities in the country in 2012, Wudang district has been working on big data and smart city construction based on the development of the electronic information industry and Internet construction.

It is also home to many demonstration bases and well-developed industries supported by detailed innovation policies and rapid economic and social development.

Wudang district's big data industry chain has taken shape, laying a good foundation for the construction of a digital valley for big data industrial innovation.
